  -Integrated endoscopy center
-Practice-wide electronic medical record (electronic endoscopy records since 1999, paperless office since 2005)
-Office-based practice (option of hospital medical staff membership and hospital on-call schedule participation)
This is an outstanding and unique opportunity to practice high quality clinical gastroenterology while living (in the truest sense of the word) in a destination adventure locale where you and your family can enjoy spectacular cycling (mountain and road), whitewater rafting and kayaking, hiking, fishing, and skiing in a vibrant college and arts community that has become one of Colorado's most spectacular and livable mountain communities.

The successful BC/BE candidate for this position will have an early opportunity to acquire ownership interests in both Digestive Health Associates, PC (our professional practice) and the Southwest Endoscopy Center, RLLLP (our ambulatory endoscopy center).
Digestive Health and Southwest Endoscopy comprise a dynamic office-based Durango gastroenterology private practice and integrated ambulatory surgery center specializing in the performance of gastrointestinal endoscopy. It is difficult for us to describe the Durango lifestyle better than our affiliated hospital partner, Mercy Regional Medical Center, or Outside Magazine, which named Durango one of its "Best Towns 2011."

Durango was ranked number 1 of 576 U.S. Micropolitan (urbanized population 10,000-50,000) Statistical Areas in economic strength for 2011 by Policom. In 2012 Smithsonian Magazine named it number 6 on its list of The 20 Best Small Towns in America.  It is one of Sunset Magazine's "24 Best Places to Live and Work, at any age," Forbes Magazine's "10 Best American Ski Towns," Liftopia's "North America's 10 Most Livable Ski Towns Year-Round," and National Geographic's "Top 10 Emerging Ski Towns."  Livability ranked Durango 3 among its 2015 "Top 100 Best Towns" in the United States.
"Durango 's outdoor lifestyle with 300+ sunny days per year is unsurpassed. Mountain biking out your front door, skiing just 20 minutes from town, quality restaurants & clubs, and walkable neighborhoods are just some of the attributes of our growing town. Our brand new, state-of-the-art facility and passionate staff provide a work environment that is unsurpassed... With over 135 physicians on medical staff, and specialties such as interventional cardiology, spine surgery & nephrology we are not your typical rural hospital. Come use your talents to help us take care of our community."
-Mercy Regional Medical Center
"Think of it as a border town. It has Southwest underpinnings—Mesa Verde National Park is only 47 miles to the west—but because it sits in the lush Animas River Valley, it serves as the geographic and cultural link between high desert and high country. A thousand miles of mountain-biking trails surround the city (pop. 16,900), the largest wilderness area in Colorado is just to the north (500,000-acre Weminuche Wilderness), two ski resorts are an easy drive away, and the paddle-friendly Animas flows almost down Main Street. At night, four local craft breweries appease the nearly 4,000 students at Fort Lewis College."
